70000 Btitannia and GWR mogul 7325 worked a special from Bristol to Swansea on 5th November 1995. The mogul developed a hot box en route, and was kept at Landore MPD at Swansea, leaving 70000 to work the return leg of the journey back to Bristol. Enjoy.

Caldey Island lies three miles off the South Coast of Pembrokeshire in South Wales.The Island is owned by The Reformed Order of Cistercian Monks, who life a simple life farming the island. The King is seen at Hereford on 21/02/1998 preparing to head North to work a Southbound special over the S&C on 14/03/1998. The King really struggles up the climb to Ais Gill, and after taking water at Garsdale, gets smartly away towards Settle. Enjoy.
The 'Duke' heads west past my house in the first shot with the 1Z71 from Birmingham International to Fishguard,which it worked to Carmarthen then 66166 headed the train to Fishguard with 71000 at the rear.The train is then seen on the return leg at Kidwelly, and finally playing to the crowds at Loughor Bridge on the start of the climb up Cockett Bank.
I have been lucky to get five shots of the Network Rail Yellow HST working in South Wales today and didn't travel more than 15 miles from my home.There were gale force winds and torrential showers about but luckily I missed them all this time. I hope you enjoy the video

More vintage footage of the 1Z17 Special from Wolverhampton to the South Wales Valleys on 6th May 1989. The train is top n' tailed by 37702 and 37355 (with large BR Logo on side), and the train is seen at Taffs Well just North of Cardiff, Cwmbargoed over 1000 feet above sea level, Aberdare, Hirwaun, and finally the Maesteg Branch. The quality of this video is a little poor but please enjoy.

On a bitterly cold and windy day Ex PTR No 813 from the SVR was re-numbered as sister loco 816 and is seen during the day working hard on this steeply graded line in Monmouthshire between Furnace Sidings and Whistle Inn. The sun coming out at the very end of the day.Watch out for the atmospheric last shot of the day!!
