This is my first ever Tesla Coil, it a 'traditional setup' coil with a brass & tugsten static spark gap, fed by an Oil Burner Transformer - OBIT, - It was a great little coil, rocket proof and took a real beating. I eventually sold the Primary and Secondary to fund my Fusor project but am in the process of rebuilding this coil so watch this space!
Short run of my SSTC I built a couple of years ago, shot in the back garden as it's the only place I'm 'allowed' to run it. This SSTC is driven by a Plasmasonic board I got from Dan McCauley and is running in single ended mode supplied with half wave rectified 240 VAC @ 4.5A (approx. 170 VDC) and produces 12 - 16 inch from the breakout point.
