THE QE2 arrived in Belfast as part of its farewell tour of the the British Isles. Despite the rain crowds turned out in large numbers to view the ocean liner before it sails to Dubai were it will become a floating hotel.
This is my slide-show tour of Belfast. I have included buildings, pubs, hotels, shopping area, parks and the university area.
I have excluded the peacelines/murals in this slide show as plenty have been uploaded to youtube already.
I would like to show you the rest of the city
At lego airport you will pass through Checkin, security, passport control and customs. Lego suitcases are x-rayed and customs offices greet you at the other end to carry out random searches of luggage.
This is the Lego Underground in London -Similar to the London Underground, the lego passengers buy their tickets, pass through the ticket barriers take the escalators and wait patiently on the platform for the train to arrive They even read their newspapers.
Northern Ireland has alot to offer the tourist/backpacker. In my slide show (excluding Belfast) I have included interesting places to visit in County's Antrim, Down, Fermanagh Tyrone, Derry and Armagh. I will show you towns,castle ruins, a stately home in Fermanagh and a forest park. Of course I wasnt able to include every place.
Either you love them or loathe them but the speakers at "Speakers Corner" in London's Hyde Park are always entertaining and this religious speaker attracted quite a crowd and a few hecklers too. You can visit Speakers corner every Sunday.
Over several evenings I filmed the planes arriving into and departing out of Belfast city Airport I filmed from Sydenham Bridge and IKEA. Most of the film is in timelapse
This is my lego model of the original transatlantic ocean liner - The Queen Mary. Now a hotel/tourist attraction, the ship is found in Long Beach, Los Angeles
Portobello Road Market is one of several street markets you can visit during a weekend in London. Even if you don't like the market you can take a stroll around the pretty streets of Notting Hill
I boarded a bus in Royal Avenue, Belfast city centre which travelled along the Antrim Road. The film (a little shaky at times has been speeded up twice to shorten the original 11 minute video
A shop has opened in Belfast were you can buy clothes, sandals and even handbags for your teddy bear!! Build-A-Bear workshop is found in the Victoria Centre.
Chester is only 35 minutes by train from Liverpool. The regular train service makes Chester an ideal place to spend the day. You can see the tudor style buildings on the high street. You can walk around the city walls, visit the canal locks and take a stroll along the river
