Parody of "M". This is a skit from a TV show in 1963 called "Fractured Flickers", with Hans Conried. In the show, they take excerpts from old movies (mostly silent films) and put their own story and dialogue to them, often with zany results. Here, they do a parody of "M" with Peter Lorre. :)
Manuel (Spencer Tracy) takes Harvey (Freddie Bartholomew) out on his fishing boat on a fishing competition against Long Jack (John Carradine). Harvey first tries to cheat to get ahead, until he realizes he's made a terrible mistake.
Major Surov (Brynner) attempts to amuse his "guests" at a Hungarian cafe. They are being held until they receive papers to leave the country.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Ashmore (Kerr) wants only to sneak away so she can help her Hungarian lover (Jason Robards) escape before he can be tried as a spy.
Mild-mannered Mr. Renfield (Frye) arrives at Castle Dracula to meet the Count ...himself (Bela Lugosi). Renfield is assisting Dracula in signing the final paperwork needed to purchase a castle in London.
Harvey (Freddie Bartholomew), son of a millionaire, has just fallen overboard off his father's luxury liner. Portuguese fisherman Manuel (Spencer Tracy) rescues the boy. Harvey demands that the crew stop what they're doing in order to assist him. The crew think he's a "Jonah", or bad luck, but Manuel feels sorry for him.
In this episode, Peter Lorre plays Carlos, a man addicted to a good bet. A gambler (Steve McQueen) agrees to a wager where if his lighter succeeds in lighting ten times in a row, he will win Carlos' (Lorre's) car. If he should lose, he'll lose a finger.
Renfield attempts to warn Dr. Seward that Mina is in danger.
"Send me far away! My cries at night, they might disturb Miss Mina. They might give her bad dreams, Professor Van Helsing. Bad dreams!"
"He thinks there's wolves...He thinks they're talking to him. He howls and howls back at them. He's crazy!" -Martin
"You know too much to live, Van Helsing!"
While home in the Soviet Union and holding fond memories of Paris, composer Boroff (Wim Sonneveld) shows off his new Western-style number to his friends, Brankov (Lorre), Bibinski (Jules Munshin), Ivanov (Joseph Buloff) and Ninotchka Yoschenko (Cyd Charisse).
Janos (Lorre) has had a rubber mask made of his face by a local surgeon, using his passport photo for a template. He has established a deep friendship with Helen, a blind woman who sees him for the kind man he is.
Dr. Einstein (Lorre) and Jonathan Brewster (Raymond Massey) make an unwelcome return to Jon's family home.
"That last face...I saw that picture too just before I operated. I was intoxicated." :)
