Controversial, intense scene from the 1940 film, "Strange Cargo", starring Clark Gable and Joan Crawford. This scene is one of the more powerful and, from around the 16 films I've seen of Gable's, one of the finer examples of his skills as an actor. The actor in the water is Ian Hunter.
This clip is part of the opening sequence of a 1975 special, "Gable - The King Remembered" and features Judy Garland singing her classic, "Dear Mr. Gable - You Made Me Love You" along with various iconic scenes of Gable's prolific career. The narrator and host of the special was Peter Lawford.
