Venetian Pool, Coral Gables: created in 1923 from a coral rock quarry left by George Merrick (developer) and lined with limestone. It's beauty is accentuated by loggias, porticos, palm trees and bridge.
Built in 20 years between 1920-40 by a 5 foot,100 lb man it is an engineering marvel compared to Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Today, structural engineers still don't know how he did it.
