At about 2:30pm on Sunday May 18th the Governor along with leaders from both the House and Senate announced to the press a budget deal that would balance Minnesota's books for 2008/2009. While this solves the problem for now, the DFL continues to drive the bus over the cliff with a TAX TAX TAX SPEND SPEND SPEND view that government can solve all problems with more spending and more programs.
You can't help but smile and laugh along when Senators get hysterical in talking about the Governor. It's entertaining to watch the kids on the legislative playground---until you realize it's Your Lunch money they keep taking.
Outnumbered over 2-1 in the Minnesota Senate, GOP members still offer amendments that would actually help Minnesotans. DFL members voted against Seniors, Veterans, and anyone who buys gas, diesel, or buys anything that has been trucked to market. Most people don't get to see what goes on every day during a floor session. If they did, we wouldn't have a DFL majority for very longer.
