Opening up a day of Halloween railfanning on CSX's Capital Sub is CSX Q-439 climbing up the grade WB out of Baltimore with ES44DC 5331 leading CW44AC 324. To bad 324 didn't get to lead the train which would have made the first catch of the day a tad more exciting.
CSX Train Q439 flexes its muscles as it makes its way through Roselle Park. Listen to the engines whine as they hit the platform, as they are both in Notch 8. Westbound CSX Q439-08 passing through the MARC train station at Riverdale Park, MD. This is a great spot for up close railfanning. Leading this train is CSX ES44DC #5225 and CW44AC #436. Seems the GEVO's are back in numbers lately.
CSX Q439-18 rolls westbound through Riverdale Park with an impressive consist of five locomotives. Leading (unfortunately)is CSX ES44DC #5288 followed by ES44DC #5472, GP38-2S #6150 and a sequential pair of SD50-2's #8617 and #8618. Interestingly the SD50's are in different paint schemes.

Another long CSX manifest freight, Q439-11 westbound at Riverdale Park, Md. This 125 car train is led by CSX ES44DC #5437 and CW44AC #214. We had to wait a couple hours for this one because of problems in Baltimore.

I took at trip up the River Line with my tag team partner 9/21/2008. We start at Haverstraw, NY with the Q-409. We then proceed to Marlborough, NY where we catch the Q-434. Then we went to West Park, NY and caught the Q-118. Then it was off to Kingston, NY where we caught the Q-254 and X-983. We finally went to Mount Marion, NY where we caught the K-684, Q-439 and the Q-417.
