Many thousands of believers from throughout the West Bank are trying to reach El-Aktza for the Friday prayers. They all have to go through the Qalandia checkpoint. Because of the many checkpoints inside the West Bank, many of them have to leave in the early hours of the morning to reach Jerusalem on time. At 11:45 the Israeli army closed Qalandia Checkpoint, not letting anyone through.
