The Plants are from Washington, DC but really have a NY sound. A big part of that sound is the fact that they recorded for J&S in the Bronx which always had a heavy, bluesy doo wop sound.
Very rare Velours 45. The only one rarer than this is Romeo, also on the Onyx label. The reason for the center hole chip is that someone put one of those metal center discs in the record. The person that owned the record before me made the mistake of removing it by hand and the center hole broke. Regardless, it's a rare record and a treasure to have in any condition.
Beautiful sound produced and written by Barry White. A lot of classic doo wop elements going on in this song. It's a shame the group didn't join in harmony on this one.

I wouldn't suggest for any of you to attempt this dance.. Listen closely to The Dellwoods as they break down the dance steps. Hilarious. Good parody on all of the rediculous 60s dance craze songs.

Very rare record. I'm posting this in tribute to Same Cooke. This record is nearly impossible to find. The doo wop guys have been looking for this record for the ballad side for years.. If the Norther Soul guys start looking for it this will become one impossible record to locate. Sorry for the sound quality.. Although the label looks good, my copy is pretty beat.

This is one of the ultimate love songs. Very deep lyrics with a strong melody and arrangement to back it up. This is a visit to Marvin's doo wop roots... There are a lof of 50's elements in this song. I originally found this on Marvin's early classics CD. The liner notes stated that it came from a 1967 album but alas, a 45 does exist. Enjoy

This is a relatively rare 1986 doo wop. I just so happened to stumble across this record. It wasn't recorded that well and it has the longest bridge I've ever heard on a record. Actually, it sounds like the long bridge was a mistake. If you listen closely it sounds like they were going back to the refrain. Overall, even with it's rawness, it's a good tune.

Look closely at the label.... "The Wows Of Love". Interesting misprint. Technically this is a 2nd or third pressing, but it's by far the hardest version of this 45 to get. They pulled this one out of production quickly when they saw the misprint.
