Reggie, a wealthy Chaotic player, offers Tom and Kaz a slew of ultra-rare cards if they'll go to Perim and return his lost Code Scanner to his "other self." But first the guys must get to Castle Bodhran, Reggie's last known location. Despite Kaz's warning, Tom risks his prized Maxxor card in Challenge Match to win the rare Castle Location Card.
Tom learns that his friend Sarah has been captured by the Danians while on a secret Pillar Mountain scan misson. Tom, Kaz and Peyton stage a daring rescue assault only to be captured themselves. With their scanners now in Danian "hands," the boys must rely on Sarah's secret weapon as she hatches a last ditch plan to trick the Danians into aiding their escape.
After winning seven matches in the Crellan Drome, Tom is summoned to battle a CodeMaster! After snagging a new scan in the perilous Pits, Tom feels he's ready to get Chaotic -- but he soon finds out that his strategy has a fatal flaw!
