BEEP BEEP is most often the song associated with this group, but the FIRST chart hit for them was Jo-Ann. You don't see this tune on collections as a rule and I just came across a VERY GOOD copy best I have seen. This charted number 19 in 1958 and peaked February 13. Was on the charts for 13 weeks and ranked number 154 for the year.
stills & videos of my June 2008 motorcycle ride thru Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania (mostly of Shenandoah National Park); music background is the Gateway Singers 1958 version of Shenandoah which I've loved since I 10 years old (the year I "got possession" of my Dad's Gateway Singers in Hi Fi album)
