quality of course the real thing is better than the knock off, but from a training perspective, practice is priority over quality, many of the knives found in the Philippines are actually poor quality but that never stopped them from training!

Me grappling the dreaded Randy, one of the best grapplers that came by to train with us. We are doing a slow technical style rolling, we are looking for submissions but we don't really go for them, more like a catch and release, working more on prevention and mobility.

the reverse grip aka ice pick grip, though awkward, works very well for starting. You don't have to worry so much about the edge, how your cutting, stabbing, the angles, etc.
