The river season draws to a close and I'm still pursuing pike on the tributary. The birding is good and I get to see a raven amongst others. The music is Mr Big Stuff by Jean Knight on the Stax label.
As the river season comes to an end, I start my spring gravel pit campaign. Although the conditions were against me I did well in the end. Music is Positivity by Stevie Wonder featuring Aisha Morris.
The rivers are in the fields, even the canal is the colour of chocolate, so I switch to a gravel pit to pursue pike. Music being played is Tomorrow Robins will sing by Stevie Wonder.
It's January 2008 and I am starting the year in pursuit of perch on the River Trent. I fail in my quest but I do catch two bullheads though and see a pair of whooper swans!

It's early season and I'm off to the lower Severn for a couple of nights carp fishing. Music is Better use your head by Little Anthony and the Imperials.
It's the second entry of 2008 in my Angling Journal and I'm off the mark with a perch. The snail is well and truly on its way! Music being played is First Impressions by The Impressions.
Although I'm calling it a bream campaign, I'm more than happy to keep catching fish like these tench! Music played is Walk Away From Love by David Ruffin.
After several weeks of chasing zander on the lower Severn, the conditions dictate that I switch to barbel.

I'm on the canal this week with sessions after carp on the surface and spinning for perch and chub. I also get to see a barn owl. Twinkle my Bedlington terrier also puts in an appearance.
With a week of snow and sharp frosts I was glad to take anything that came along, so the one big bream was very welcome indeed. The music is The Tams and Hey girl don't bother me.
