In the 1980's, the soviets launched an invasion of afghanistan. After nine years of fighting, they withdrew from afghanistan, having sufferd 15,000 dead.They left behind many damaged and destroyed tanks and amoured vehicles that continiue to rust in the deserts of afghanistan today. afghanistan became the grave of Soviet armor.
