I went down to Bend, Oregon to buy and bring back an '83 Chevy Truck. I wanted the winch and Dana 60 and running gear from it. I ended up throwing 40" tires on it and played with it for a day on the back part of my property, and broke it that same day. (snapped the tranny to t-case coupler sleeve). I fixed it and then traded it (minus Dana 60 and winch) for a 1985 GMC Jimmy.
The Big Al's Mud Bog and Elk Mud-A-Rama in June 2007. I entered both the 6-cylinder Utility Truck and the Budget Suburban at Big Al's, and at Mud-A-Rama entered the Stepside and the Budget Suburban. I also had 3 fuel pumps on 3 separate trucks go bad in 36 hours.
A collection of video clips from 2006-2008. Mud bogs, mud races, some trails, and other off-roading from the Eastern Washington and North Idaho areas. www.mountainexplorer s4x4.com
We can only afford to race if the truck pays for itself in the long run and at the end can also donate remaining parts to other projects. This $250 truck sat for years, but we got it running and mud raced it, won 2 trophies, then parted it out and counting all the mud racing fees and gas still came out $30 ahead and kept the SB400 motor and 3/4 ton 4.10 axles for free.
Mud Bog in Spokane, Wa. I had my Stepside out there on 39.5" Boggers and won a 2nd place trophy; James Smith with the 427 powered Datsun Cab won 1st place. Video courtesy of Wayne at www.mudallica.com who had his tan Bronco on 33's there.
I made my own mud pit for our annual play day and got stuck with the Truck Blazer. 39.5" Boggers, rear Detroit Locker, 396 Big Block, 4spd manual tranny, NP205, 14-bolt full floater rear, Dana 60 front.
Some misc video clips and pictures of my '82 Chevy Stepside that I originally bought to keep the running gear out of, and ended up keeping the truck. This video is stuff only from the first few months of me owning it. It has since gone through 2 more motors.
My Blue '84 K5 Blazer, just a few video clips and stills from when I first got it up until a couple years ago when it last ran. It'll hopefully run again this year. Video clips from the Moyie Springs Mud Bog, Moses Lake mud flats, Harrington mud races, and other places.
A few clips from the Moyie Mud Bog Fall 2004, Spring 2005, and Fall 2005. The mud gets deeper than these clips show, but this is the only footage that got taped with my camera. In the spring of 2005 we had to tear down my motor in the '80 GMC Blue/White truck and put a crank and bearings in it, and we had it back in the mud pit by Sunday morning.
Josh Krebs with the black S-10, Lloyd Standish in the blue Toyota, Mike Kreijci in the Yellow Chevy, Jimmy in the Hearse, Dennis Johnson in the Suburban, James Smith Jr. in the Chevy Luv.
My 1980 GMC in Ione, Wa at some muddy water holes and the mud/water pits in my field April 2003. Relatively stock 454, 4.10 gears, 39.5" Boggers, NO lockers, SM465/205, 14-bolt and Dana 60.
