Crooked Still US tour for new album 'STILL CROOKED' New lineup of Aoife O'Donovan, Greg Liszt, B.D., Corey Di Mario, bass, Tristan Clarridge, cello, and Brittany Haas, fiddle. Amply and aptly aided by two guest fiddlers ( one I recognized as Tashina C. ) and That Genius Man, Mike Marshall on mandolin. About as good as it gets!
Featuring a double solo by Chad on fiddle, but, as usual, everybody shines! The band includes Keith Little (Ricky Skaggs, Dolly Parton, the Country Gentlemen) on 5-string banjo, guitar and vocals, Jim Nunally (John Reischman the Jaybirds) on guitar and vocals, Chad Manning on fiddle, Samson Grisman on bass and of course, David Grisman on mandolin and vocals.

Great new lineup for AY. She's such a talented songwriter (and performer - and person)and now Oliver Craven, another supertalented young songwriter and performer, Charlie Rose on banjo/bass/vocals, ditto for talent; and Andrew Thacker, double ditto for talent. Sure looking forward to a new album soon!
The BEST performance Ive seen by Aoife O Donovan of Crooked Stll. The song is Florence from the new album. When I first heard it I thought, How perfect! Easy to see what Brittany Haas brings to the new lineup here.
OTHER THAN SPRINGSTEEN THIS TWO SONG BLOCK IS AMONG THE BEST TEN THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN IN CONCERT!! YEP!!FROM The BEST set at a GREAT festival and believe me they had plenty of competition with AY doing two great sets, Del, Grisman, Steep Canyon, Dailey and Vincent, The Steeldrivers, Hot Rize, JD, Sam Bush and Sarah Jarosz.....But, for me this was the best!! 4 encores !!!!!!!
Such a great version of 'Angelyne the Baker! Thanks, young lady!! From the Grey Fox 08 Master's Tent set from the recently signed (Sugar Hill Records) artist Sarah Jarosz from Austin, Texas. Look for her album in the spring of next year.
I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT THIS WAS TITLED WHAT WAS I BEFORE? BUT I NOW HAVE IT ON GOOD AUTHORITY (MY WIFE PAM) THAT IT'S ENTITLED AS ABOVE AND IS ANTHER GREAT ONE! ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS BY ADRIENNE; I THINK FORM THE 1ST ALBUM, PLOW TO THE END OF THE ROW.
Sarah Jarosz performing her own composition at the Old Settler's Fest near Austin, Texas April 08. Alex Hargeaves on fiddle and Sam Grisman on upright bass.
Such a wonderfully crafted popgrass tune. From the third album but timeless Great new lineup for AY. She's such a talented songwriter (and performer - and person)and now Oliver Craven, another supertalented young songwriter and performer, Charlie Rose on banjo/bass/vocals, ditto for talent; and Andrew Thacker, double ditto for talent.
Lots o good things coming from Grey Fox. Hard to decide where to start, 1Sday, a great and favourite band, another great performance makes it AY and Little Sadie. Adrienne Young, Oliver, Charlie, Andy Thatcher and uh, to follow when it comes to me, a new addition for Grey Fox; what I would call a dobro.
SADIE'S SONG, her great take on the trad song LITTLE SADIE. Terrific and terrifically inventive retelling of the saga of that little gal we all know and love, Little Sadie, LNU. Beside Adrienne the band includes Oliver Craven, Andrew Thacker, and Charlie Rose.
The song CONESTOGA from her FIRST album, any new AY fans don't overlook going back to get this album, fantastic production on this song, must listen! Performed in the heat of the Saturday at Grey Fox 08 Band includes Oliver Craven, fiddle, Andrew Thacker, mando, and Charlie Rose on bass. And, of course, Adrienne Young on vocals, banjo, guitar, and even upright bass now and again.
