2 S-2 switchers just released by K-Line pulling 31 K-Line & 2 Industrial Rail freight cars. They pulled them very easily and could have done more, but I didn't have any more cars with me.
The set up on the lower level is set 44464 from 1957. I have added an extra unpowered A unit, extra coach and an extra dome liner. The upper level is set 9638 from Sears in 1958. The car with the Allstate semi trailers is an extra. Both of these old sets ran flawless for 6 hours without a break.
This is the Marx Trains Southern Pacific Daylight. All were TTOS convention cars over a few year span. There were only 4 cars issued so 3 of these are duplicates.
This is what happens when you have too many Jack-in-the-Box antenna balls and a little too much spare time. All pieces are Marx trains except of course the passengers.

This is one of my favorites. It is a pre-war Marx CP style loco greatly modified to look like the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha. The tender and passenger cars are made of wood from 1937 era Cleveland Models 3/16 scale kits. Runs very nice for almost 70 years old. I can't take credit for building it, only the restoration.
I built this copy of a 3086 Marx Dealer Display using pictures in Classic Toy Trains magazine, and additional info from owners of a couple of them. All the accessories are activated by the weight of the train or by the wheels. Even the spatter type paint is a very close match to the original.
My K-Line 2-6-6-6 Allegheney pulling a string of 28 freight cars on the Nixon Library Festival of Trains Display. Tried to run 30 but a couple of cars couplers could not handle the drag.
This Marx wind-up set is from about 1948. If you listen carefully as it passes you will hear it also has an air whistle driven by the spring motor. The loop was about 36' x 17' and it would make almost exactly a full loop on one winding. The viewers loved it and I kept winding and running it for almost an hour. The winding arm finally tired out.
The trolly is a Bachman 0n30 with timed stops at both ends. The station to the left under the tree is a winterized pre war Marx 2900 Glendale Station. I was done by Scott Moss of Texas.
