A female wasp (Polistes dominulus, Polistes dominulus) gets harassed by ants as she tries to enjoy lapping up sugary secretions left by aphids on a milkweed leaf.
I think this has to be one of the best sounding wind chimes ever. If it were a good $30 cheaper it would have been mine in a heart beat. But at least I captured it's sound so I have it in a way. ;)
It is recorded sideways and you can't see it, but one thing you can do is hear it. I love my new tuned wind chime that hangs on our black walnut tree.
The air smells nice and crisp, a bit like old burning campfires like fall usually is. There isn't much wind to speak of... I had to shake it a little to get the melody.
A media worker leaf cutter ant struggles to carry her bit of leaf to the nest but she mananges to pull through. The leaf cutter ant colony is part of a regular exhibit at a local conservatory.
