I am experimenting with a trap system like they use on aircraft carriers for my T-28. This videos shows Day 1 ground tests as I figure out how to make it work.
Here is a brief glimpse at how I mounted my Tony Hawk Helmet Cam inside the cockpit of my Parkzone T-28 Trojan. One of the things I like about this model is the removable cockpit. That way I can have a second cockpit that isn't modified for videos taken of the plane as it taxiing around without seeing my ugly in-cockpit camera setup.
RC flying is a journey of endless small improvements. Today's FCLP with the Super Cub consisted primarily of bouncing all around the arrestor cable. However, I did have one beautiful trap. The wind was picking up, so I decided to call it a day. Check out my blog http://matthew-rc-ai rcraft.blogspot.com/
I took the Super Cub out after work again today. The over cast sky continues to hang around and impair the video quality. It was windy so I decided to stay away from the ground. Instead I tried to see how high I could take her. I have been higher without a camera attached, but what's the fun in that? I got some good shots of the surrounding area.
I've posted enough videos that just another movie flying around would be kind of boring. But everyone loves a good crash! I start off with a close call because of some guy who wasn't paying attention at the airfield and almost nailed me on the runway. I show you what can go wrong when flying in the wind, taking off with a low battery, and flying out of range. Enjoy!
I just realized I have been misspelling the "Cane" in Cane Ridge Airfield on my previous videos. I doubt anyone that flies there looks at these anyway. Today I was the only person braving the wind. The sun was out so I couldn't resist.
